Dr. Hemicara announces a link between reef keeping and physiological behavior

12/14/95 (RTO-NYC)

Dr. Hemicara of the prestigious Reef Encounters Environmental Forecasting Expedition and Registry (REEFER) announced today he is on the track of a previously unknown effect of reef environments. "Based on preliminary testing, we've found some unusual biological compounds degassing from areas in and around reefs, and that they seem to affect human brain function." Dr. Hemicara said he and his team have found the effect especially pronounced in people keeping reef aquarium tanks in their home. He believes this increased effect may be caused by the lack of good air circulation in most homes.

A number of other researches have started to explore Dr. Hemicara's findings and other results are expected soon.

As for the effects of these compounds, the data has not been sufficiently analyzed but the Doctor says, "It seems these compounds are causing some physiological changes in behavior in those afflicted."

Dr. Hemicara states flatly though, "There is no reason to be alarmed at these findings."
